| Information about drug and/or alcohol treatment programs offered by organizations participating
in the DART database is divided into five levels - Organization Information, Addiction Services Information,
Site Information, Provincial Service Category Information, and Program Information. Organization Information An organization is the body that has been given funding to provide addiction services. Some organizations are free-standing, meaning that they have an independent board and only provide addiction services. Other organizations are 'Sponsoring Organizations', meaning that they deliver specialized addiction services within a larger, more generic environment that offers other non-addiction services. Organization information provided in the Online Treatment Directory includes the organization name and description. Addiction Services Information Addiction services refers to either the part of the sponsoring organization that offers drug and/or alcohol treatment services (e.g., addiction services administered by a health unit) or the entire organization that only offers drug and/or alcohol treatment services. Addiction services information provided in the Online Treatment Directory includes the addiction services name, description, website address, contact(s), address(es), telephone number(s), email address(es), and hours of operation. Site Information Site identifies the location where addiction service delivery occurs. Some organizations operate addiction services at more than one site; one program may be delivered at more than one site. Site information provided in the Online Treatment Directory includes the site name, description, contact(s), address(es), telephone number(s), email address(es), and hours of operation. Provincial Service Category Information A Provincial Service Category refers to a broad category of specialized addiction treatment or support that constitutes part of the continuum of care. The Online Treatment Directory displays the Provincial Service Catgegories offered by the organization. Program Information A program consists of a collection of components and/or clinical modalities which are designed to assist clients in meeting their needs and reaching their goals. A program is provided within a Provincial Service Category (PSC), which refers to a broad category of specialized addiction treatment or support that constitutes part of the continuum of care. Program information provided in the Online Treatment Directory includes the program name, description, contact(s), address(es), telephone number(s), email address(es), hours of operation, clients served, languages offered, and program catchment area. |
